Geforce GTX 580: Nvidia launches new high-end GPU with DX11 before
Nvidia has its second generation of graphics processors with DirectX 11 support announced. The new Geforce GTX 580 still based on the FermiArchitecture with 40 nm feature size, but were GPU optimized transistor-level power consumption and cooler than the previous top model GTX 480th Thus they offer compared to 30 percent more performance or 35 percent more performance per watt.

The shader units running at 1544 instead of 1401 MHz. This results in a higher texture fill rate resulting from 49.4 billion pixels per second (instead of 42 billion) and a higher memory bandwidth of 192.4 GB / s (instead of 177.4 GB / s). Bottom line, the GTX 580 is likely to be the fastest DX11 card for games on the market.
Despite higher power Nvidia has been able to reduce power consumption compared to the GTX 480 easily. The maximum power of 244 watts, the manufacturer is TDP at (GTX 480: 250 watts). In idle mode, the new releases is content with about 31 watts, which is even lower than the 35 watts of the GTX 470 (GTX 480: 50 watts).
